Swift & Staley provides comprehensive facilities maintenance for Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area, a designated national recreation area under the management of the USDA Forest Service.
LBL, the largest inland peninsula in the United States, consists of 170,000 acres of forest, fields, open lands, facilities, roads, and other public use areas. It is approximately 8 miles wide and 42 miles long with 300 miles of shoreline. It is located between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley with the northern most point in Grand Rivers, Kentucky and the southern most point in Dover, Tennessee.
Swift & Staley’s responsibilities include trails maintenance, environmental services, chemical pumping, and grounds maintenance. Job orders necessitate management of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general labor tasks.
Swift & Staley’s goal is to support USDA Forest Service at LBL in their mission “To protect and manage the resources of Land Between The Lakes for optimum yield of outdoor recreation and environmental education through multiple use management; to authorize, research, test, and demonstrate innovative programs and cost-effective management of the Recreation Area; to help stimulate the development of the surrounding region; and to extend the beneficial results as widely as possible.”
